November and December shows

Hi everyone! I just finished up a crazy, life-affirming musical week in New York City that featured performing with John Zorn and Dave Douglas at one end, and as a guest soloist with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orcestra just a few days later. Add on top of that a solo sopranino show and the CD release of the Mary Halvorson Octet’s new record, and I can safely say it’s been one of the best weeks for me ever!

As it gets colder and the Cubbies inch towards a world championship, here is a list of my upcoming performances for the rest of 2016. Highlights include tours with four great drummer bandleaders!! Barry Altschul, Rudy Royston, Teun Vergruggen and Andrew Bain all have completely different musical visions to share, and we are excited to get the music to you!

It’s been an incredible year, and here’s to more music in 2017!

  1. Jon Block says:

Jon: It was terrific hearing you play live at Gig in Santa Fe. I hope you come back soon. Also — the trio with Thomson and leader Rudy is just amazing. Maybe you three will do a recording of this incarnation of the trio?
